What camera/lenses do you use?  What camera/equipment would you like to have?

Me?  I have a Pentax K110D DigitalSLR.  It's a great starter DSLR, but I've pretty much decided that I've used it up as far as taking it to the next level - although, I COULD start shooting other genres (like street, which I've wanted to do forever but for ... reasons ... haven't).

I have two 70-300 TeleMacro lenses, one Quantaray and one Tamron.  The Tamron is my FAVORITE lens.  I also have a Tamron aspherical lens, which is kick butt for portraits...

My FAVORITE of my "tools" is my macro filter set, which I use with the original 55mm Pentax lens that came with my camera.  It's just...fun.  I have to thank the Eskimo for introducing me to that.  I also probably couldn't live without my PL filters.  *giggle*

What would I LIKE to have?  I'm not sure - the Canon EOS 5D is incredible, and incredibly expensive...  I've been drooling over the Nikon D60 for ages but now I'm like, "I'd like to have the Nikon D90 (I think it is)," as it is awesome.  Expensive, though - and either of those cameras would require new lenses...  So I'm really considering saving up for years and getting the newest Pentax release, the K20 or K200 (K20 is the top of the line).  Not gonna happen for a while, though!!

I'm also interested in a wireless release for shooting nature, as well as a couple of lighting things...  Those are more plausible upgrades for what I have that could help me get something new out of my current equipment.  :)

I just use a Canon XSi, 18-55mm and 55-250mm lens. I aim to buy a macro or fisheye once the money's there, if I COULD go all the way out I'd get the Canon 5D Mark II :) It's quite awesome.

You know, I think back about posting this topic originally because a lot of people wanted to know what I used, but I just really don't think it's about the equipment at all. Sure, having a camera with more functions, or the ability to change lens type...etc., is great - especially when you use those functions and to your advantage, but you know, it's not the camera that makes a good image - it's the person behind it.

That said, it's possible I might be getting a new SLR and a 200-400mm lens in the near future. LOL What a hypocrite! LOL

I use an iPhone, a Sony Alpha 100, and an Alpha 700.  I've been pleased with the quality of the equipment and the photos.

Hi.  I've been looking around for the post you did about 'it isn't the camera, it is the photographer' that makes a great picture and I couldn't find it.  I know someone who is 'ashamed' of his gear and doesn't want to go to a local photo clubs photo walk because of that.  Is it on this site of did you post it elsewhere?

I have looked around but haven't found it yet. Haha. I know what you're speaking of - it's SOMEWHERE online and I WILL find it! As soon as I do I will link it or e-mail you. :-)
